Don’t let the thought of putting pen to paper daunt you.

Let’s go down the highway of writing and may the steady hum of our vocabulary steer our speed to creative journeys within and outside. The road is our guide. Everything else is the reality created with words. This creative endeavour was taken by NSS of Unit Ramjas College with Ahuti Welfare Society through an Essay writing competition in  the campus. If it’s true that birds can listen to thoughts and feelings then, every passing bird experienced the flow of words, thoughts and experiences.

The Topic was given “How tobacco consumption is harmful to the society and how we as students can eradicate the destructive habit”.Students came prepared with well prepared ideas; some wrote intuitively; some had impromptu words flowing through them. Ponderous poses were witnessed with far away looks waiting for inspiration to descend, careful movement of the eyes as some followed the words in their mind; some vociferously attacked the page; at some moments the grit of writing well churned ideas flew over the pages with sweet smiles on the faces of the budding writers.
It’s a skill to be able to create a piece of writing one word after another and one sentence after another. It’s a skill to put the whole together in a way that would make people want to read. It’s a skill to paint a verbal picture or create a particular ambiance with your words. At Ramjas College, the NSS Unit works on bringing out and excelling  this art in our students by way of encouraging them to participate in an Essay Writing competition and also providing students with an opportunity to express their ideas and appreciate essay writing. At the same time inspiring students to finally participate and compete in global competitions.
